Lord Shipley chaired the meeting attended by Task Force Members, the NCTF Secretariat and for selected items consultants presenting the outcome of their contribution to the Task Forces Research Programme. Also in attendance for part of the meeting was an observer from Heathrow Airports Ltd and a representative from the Heathrow Hub Consortium.
Welcome: Lord Shipley commenced the meeting at 12.30pm, welcoming those attending and ran over the status for submission of the report (3 Feb closing date). He noted that the Task Force has asked a representative from each of the parties that had submitted short-listed proposals to the Airports Commission to come to a meeting and that today Heathrow Hub would be presenting* Heathrow Airport would be invited to give evidence on 11 December and Gatwick Airport on 9 January.
Minutes from 16 October meeting: The minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
Website Update and Questionnaire: Both to go live later in the week to accompany a press release.
Press Notice: Agreed it will go live end of w/c 24 November.
Research Programme Update: The critical path schedule and the latest update on the research programme were reviewed. Timings were going mostly to schedule. There was a suggestion that an extra meeting at the end of January be included to sign off the final report.
Presentations were received from RDC Aviation on route specific demand forecasts and another on potential interim use of Northolt.
Presentation by Jock Lowe, Heathrow Hub*: Jock Lowe presented his vision for the Heathrow Hub project which initiated some discussion with the Task Force.
Research Presentations: Due to time constraints two further presentations were not given, these were circulated after the meeting and any comments were requested from Task Force Members by Monday 1 December.
Next Meetings: The requirement for an additional meeting at the end of January was identified, and 28th January identified as the possible date.
